Our HomeStyle Flooring Series Interlocking Tiles offer a desirable mixture of durability, comfort, and style. It uses a printed vinyl top layer over plastic to simulate the look of actual stone flooring.

Installation of our HomeStyle flooring is an extremely easy process. These tiles contain a hidden interlocking edge, which secures the installation without the need for glue or tape.

The vinyl layer on these tiles will resist soaking up water, which makes it easy to install them in an area that sometimes sees problems with moisture, such as a basement, kitchen, or bathroom. Vinyl is naturally mold and mildew resistant, making it work well in damp conditions.

Best Installation Practices for HomeStyle Flooring

Although the majority of customers will select our HomeStyle flooring to perform a floating installation, there are also options for a glue-down job.

With the floating floor installation, customers will not place any adhesive on the floor. They then have the ability to pull up and disassemble the tiles later. For a glue-down install, they can apply adhesive underneath every tile or underneath the tiles around the perimeter of the layout.

It’s not necessary to apply glue to the interlocking edges of each tile. The design of the edges will hold the tiles together, even when placed under stress.

Installers can place these HomeStyle flooring tiles over the top of almost any substrate, including wood, concrete, or existing vinyl. As long as the substrate is solid, these tiles will fit over it securely. Use a filler material on any cracks larger than 1/4 inches across.

Create rows of tiles by connecting the interlocking edges on each tile. As long as the installer lines up the edges properly, they should pop together with just a little pressure from the hand or foot of the installer.

Upon reaching a wall in the room, installers will need to cut the tile to fit. A sharp blade on a utility knife and a straightedge tool should make the cutting process easy.

Maintenance and Care

To maintain the look of these faux stone and slate tiles for as long as possible, be certain to use proper maintenance techniques.

The manufacturer recommends keeping dirt and grit off the floor as much as possible. Place a mat at the entrance to the room to catch soils from the shoes of visitors before they enter the room. Run a dry mop over the top of the HomeStyle flooring to remove these dry debris.

If using a vacuum, avoid using a machine with a beater bar or metal attachments.

To damp mop this style of floor, the manufacturer recommends using vinegar diluted with water. It does not recommend using commercial cleaning solutions, especially those with abrasives.

Should the flooring end up with spilled liquid or pet urine on it, the owner should remove the spill immediately. Leaving liquids on the floor can result in staining over time.
