Artificial grass is a great choice for a workout space, and our RageTurf product includes a rubber backing layer that adds the perfect bit of cushioning for fitness training.

Size and Shape Options

Each of our interlocking turf tiles measures 23 by 46 inches (or 1.92 by 3.83 feet).

The tile uses interlocking edges that resemble a jigsaw puzzle. These jigsaw edges greatly simplify the installation process, but they also affect the coverage size of each tile versus what you may expect to receive. Each tile has 7.35 square feet of coverage.

An individual tile has a thickness measurement of 24 mm (or 0.94 inches). The top layer with the blades of artificial turf measures 12 mm in thickness, while the rubber backing layer also measures 12 mm thick.

One turf piece weighs 16.17 pounds, which makes the installation process far easier than trying to install a heavy roll of artificial grass.

You can be certain that the manufacturer is following precise measurement tolerances, ensuring that the tiles will fit together tightly and provide the coverage space you expect to receive.

The polyethylene turf layer consists of individual blades that are a little less than 1/2 inch in pile height. The turf blades provide a look that resembles real grass but that has a greater level of slip resistant traction than actual grass.

The back layer consists of vulcanized composite rubber, which provides a nice level of cushioning for those using the flooring for workouts. The rubber backing helps to hold the tiles in place without sliding around as well.

Pattern and Texture Options

We offer these interlocking turf tiles in four different blade color options. The majority of customers select a traditional green color, but colors of black, gray, and dark blue are available too.

The rubber backing is only available in black, but the rubber layer will not be visible after the installation completes.

In fact, because of the way the artificial turf blades look, the seams between the tiles will almost completely disappear in the final layout. This gives the floor the look of a solid roll of artificial turf, rather than of easier-to-install individual interlocking turf tiles.

Common Use Options

This style of indoor-only artificial grass tile is ideal for athletic workouts. Agility training for track and field or football athletes, as well as soccer skill training, is a common use case for these tiles. Athletes receive the perfect level of traction for such workouts.

In a professional gym, gymnasium owners can make use of these tiles in a weight training area, as the rubber backing on the tiles can protect the subfloor from moderately sized dropped free weights.

In a home, customers may install these tiles to create a recreational workout space in a basement or garage.

The polyethylene turf blades are a little too rough for workouts where athletes could fall to the ground. Athletes may experience skin burns, scrapes, and abrasions when falling on these faux turf tiles.

Installation Options

To install these tiles, just line up the slots on one tile with the tabs on an adjacent tile and press them together. The configuration of the jigsaw edges on these tiles ensures that they will fit tightly together without the need for glue.

Installers can use glue on the underside of the tiles for a permanent installation. However, the weight of the final layout and the rubber backing on these tiles should hold them in place without the need for adhesive. Without using glue, installers can disassemble the tiles at any time to return to the subfloor.

Cleaning and Maintenance Requirements

To clean these artificial turf tiles, start by removing dry debris. Customers can vacuum them, if desired, or they can use a leaf blower for a large layout. To keep the pile height and the individual blades from crushing, you can use a synthetic bristled brush to fluff them.

If you need to damp clean the tiles, you can use a mop with an e-cleaner product diluted as indicated on the bottle of cleaning product. Allow the space to dry naturally in the air.

For an extremely large coverage area in a space with a floor drain, you may be able to lightly rinse the flooring layout with a garden hose and a spray nozzle.
